giggling gertie was born as an expression of admiration for grandma’s everywhere. Well, not just grandma’s but all older generations, their experiences, wisdom and generosity.  The name giggling gertie is a phrase which was often used to describe excitable children and silly rascals. The brand embodies a youthful approach to bygone eras of design in areas such as textiles, fashion and accessories.

All giggling gertie products are created with love and attention. I combine fabrics in unique pairing, so you’ll be the only modern lady with your purse! They’re guaranteed to get comments and admiration from other discerning ladies…

All products are made in my home studio in Hobart, Tasmania. I work in a smoke free, vegetarian environment. I am conscious of sustainability and like using the smallest bits of fabrics that I can. I also salvage scraps from all over the place; fabrics which would other wise end up in the bin, and un-loved, find a home at my studio, and are turned into new products along with new, used and pre-loved fabrics.
